My name is Árpád Rátonyi.

Even in kindergarten, I had a wooden spoon as my sign.

I have always been attracted to what happens in the kitchen, I helped my mother a lot as a child.

I was preparing to be an engineer – BME Faculty of Electrical Engineering, 1984-1989 – but my first job directed me towards catering – Dixie Csirke Kft. In the meantime, I completed a secondary catering school – 1990-92 -, acquiring the professions of cook, confectioner, and server. At that time, kitchen technology design was not a separate field in design, kitchens were designed by architects or mechanical engineers. My other jobs were all somehow related to catering and thus to the design and implementation of catering establishments – Multi Interieur Kft., Wescho Kft., Lukács Refrigeration Technology and Gastronomy. At that time, I was already involved in the design of smaller kitchens to facilitate sales and the implementation of the project. In the meantime, I continued my education and graduated from a higher commercial management school – 1995.

Slowly, companies and enterprises dealing with kitchen technology design began to emerge in Hungary, and kitchen technology design was recognized as a separate field of study. In 2001, I founded my own business with two partners, which has been operating ever since, which initially dealt with the design, implementation and servicing of catering projects. Even in the initial period, I had a lot of interesting design work.

However, I had to realize that kitchen technology design includes several mechanical elements, so I graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Szent István University – 2003-2006, and then I obtained a degree in economics from the PSZF – 2008.

After 2006, our business focused more and more on design and gradually the implementation and servicing work fell behind. Today, I serve my clients' needs as an independent designer, starting from the concept plan, through the permitting plan to the construction design.

In addition to design, I also provide kitchen technology expertise, consulting, and on-site project management. I share my more than 25 years of experience with my clients. During this time, I have completed more than 600 design projects for approximately 400 clients to the greatest satisfaction of my partners.
